Turrialba Volcano around 3pm has started activity by erupting ashes and gases. Around 21 families have been evacuated from nearby towns.
Last activity known was around 1866.
This volcano is located around 40 km East from San Jose, in a National Park of the Central Range. It has 10,918 feet height.

American Airlines announces a new direct flight between New York and San Jose, Costa Rica. American Airlines' Boeing 757 with a capacity for 231 passenger, will be flying 5 times a week, except for Mondays and Saturdays.

We would like to inform you that starting next Monday, February 1st, 2010, a new tax of $2.00 will be applied for all passengers departing from the Quepos airstrip. This new charge has to be paid directly at the terminal.
In the other hand, as part of the improvements made in the terminal, passengers will have wireless internet service, cable tv, restrooms, soda, tour desk and information center.
