Day 02 Fly to Palmar Sur / Aguila de Osa
A transfer from Best of Costa Rica will provide transportation to a local airstrip, where you will board a flight from San Jose to Palmar Sur. Upon arrival, a shuttle from Aguila de Osa Inn will provide transportation to Sierpe River, there you will board a boat to the Lodge. Inn is located in Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula, situated on a high bluff overlooking the Agujitas river with panoramic views of Drake Bay. Reaching out into the Pacific Ocean along the southwest coast, the Osa was once described by National Geographic as one of the most biologically intense places on earth.

Day 04 Aguila de Osa Inn

*Suggested activities:   Caño Island tour is situated just 12 nautical miles from Aguila de Osa Inn, you might be lucky enough to see whales and/or dolphins frolicking in the ocean. You will get time to snorkel in front of the ranger station. You'll also have time for a relatively short hike, which begins just behind the ranger station.

Day 01 Arrival to San Jose / Courtyard Marriott Hotel

A Best of Costa Rica representative will greet you at the airport and provide transportation to the Marriott Courtyard located in the vibrant, upscale town of Escazu. This new hotel provides colonial-styled architecture, easy access to dining and shopping, and a swimming pool.

Day 02 Pacuare White Water Adventure / Suerre Hotel

A Rios Tropicales shuttle will provide transportation from the hotel to the Pacuare River for an exciting world-class rafting adventure. Glide over white rapids through swaths of pristine jungle and wildlife. Upon completion, the Rios Tropicales Shuttle will drive you to the Suerre Hotel in Guapiles for a good night's rest. This small Hotel is located midpoint between San Jose and Tortuguero National Park and offers comfortable accommodations on your way to Costa Rica’s Caribbean Plains.

Day 03 Mawamba Lodge

Your day begins bright and early, when you board the Mawamba Lodge shuttle to begin your unforgettable Tortuguero Canals Discovery Adventure on the Caribbean Coast. A bilingual guide will provide interesting information and answer your questions along the drive across the lush Braulio Carrillo Rainforest and the extensive banana plantations. The exuberant network of water canals are teeming with exotic flora and fauna including the endangered Great Green Macaw, White-Faced monkeys, and Green Sea Turtles. Accessible only by water, Mawamba Lodge is rustic but comfortable and is located just five minutes away from the National Park's entrance. In addition to the exciting surroundings, the lodge offers a beautiful swimming pool, delicious buffet meals, and spacious rooms.

Day 04 Mawamba Lodge

Mawamba offers a variety of tours to the canals of the National Park, turtle nesting observation (seasonal July - September), hikes into the lush rain forest of the area, bird watching and night tours conducted and supervised by specially trained guides using the best equipment and implementing all necessary safety precautions. Overnight stay at Mawamba Lodge.

Day 06 Arenal Springs

*Suggested activities: Enjoy one of the many family tours offered in the Arenal area, including the Safari River Rafting, the Caño Negro Natural Refuge, guided hiking tours, horseback riding, or the adrenaline-infused Canopy Tour for unique perspectives of the local flora and fauna. The area's exuberance will thrill adults and children alike.
